Regulatory Complaints, hearings and claims against Lawyer or Licensed Paralegals, Immigration Consultants.
Lawyer or Licensed Paralegal or Licensed Immigration Consultant misconduct may include: conflict of interest, over-billing, refusing to represent a client for political or professional motives, false or misleading statements, hiding evidence, abandoning a client, failing to disclose all relevant facts, arguing a position while neglecting to disclose prior law which might counter the argument, and in some instances having sex with a client.

The Law Society or the College for Immigration Consultants may conduct an investigation if a complaint is filed suggesting that a Lawyer or Licensed Paralegal or Licensed Immigration Consultant may have engaged in professional misconduct or conduct unbecoming a licensee, or that they may be incapacitated.

If the licensee is found guilty of professional misconduct or incompetence, he/she can appeal the decision. Subject to conflict check, our office can also represent professionals facing such allegations or disciplinary action.

If you are unsure whether your concerns with your representative involve professional misconduct, we can help to make a professional assessment and offer advice; we can assist you in assessing the related work and competency, as well as representing you professionally for a legal remedy including the recovery of fees and costs.
